Description
This is the
Bruce Trail, a long-distance hiking trail marked with white painted blazes.
This section of the trail travels the Pretty River Provincial Park from end-to-end, and top-to-bottom.
Most parts of the trail are moderately technical and can have a lot of steep sections. The flatter cliff-side section is one of the more rock-strewn pieces of trail in the park. Only true rock fiends will enjoy this section.
Along this trail, you may end up in some hike-a-bike sections, but the views are spectacular. Look for Georgian Bay, The Pretty River, and Wasaga Beach. In summer, watch turkey vultures wheeling in the sky - you can often find yourself almost a wingtip away from a giant bird. But watch the drop!
Note that this trail is multi-use and it sees all kinds of non-bike traffic. Expect to encounter other people. Be on your best behavior and yield to hikers.
