A challenging, multiple-use trail with nice views of the lake; however, you'll do some hike-a-bike.

Description

A dirt trail with varied grade including moderate to fairly steep inclines. This nature trail in the Gavins Point Section of the Lewis & Clark Recreation Area welcomes equestrian riders, hikers, and mountain bikers.

The one issue with this trail is as soon as you go down you must be ready to go up and up. Most likely you'll have to get off and carry/push your bike. If the State were to put switchbacks in, this trail would be much more enjoyable. They seem to keep the trail kept up better now than in the past, but be careful after a big rain because you can come across washouts along the trail.

Keep your eyes open for the awesome views, though.

Don't be fooled, this is not a mountain bike trail, unless you like pushing your bike, it's a horse trail with steep hills that cannot be ridden.
