A great introduction to singletrack for kids and adults alike.
Description
Salina got this one right! It's a fun singletrack, tucked away in between the Smoky Hill River and the
Salina Levee Trail, South. Too bad it can't be any longer, but it's a great introduction for the masses to singletrack!
It's pretty easy, but will keep those casual riders coming back over and over. The trail utilizes the area quite well and has a fun descent section where you can pick up some speed and then a couple of climbs you'll have to attack to make it up.
To get to the trail, use the road down to a property at Cloud Street and head south to reach the trailhead...or just bomb down the side of the levee! I'm sure the city would frown on erosion that would cause. Maybe they should make a switchback to access the trailhead, I dunno.
Poison ivy is thick in the low areas...if you wreck, stay on the trail! :)
