An out-and-back route along the Missouri River starting from Fort Rice campground.

Need to Know

Camping is available on either end of the route. Fort Rice has a host of amenities including: picnic area, fire rings, potable water, parking, RV hookups, camping areas, telephone and restrooms.

Description

The Roughrider Trail is a relatively flat route on an old railroad bed. The trail surface is a mix of gravel and dirt with a few water crossings.

This scenic route travels along the Missouri River and has multiple opportunities to stop and rest or take in the views.
