Great hiking.
Description
The trail is blazed in red and is approx. 1.7 miles long. The trail intersects with the
Meadow Mountain Trail twice, and the
Indian Turnip Trail, as well as the short Brant Mine trail.
The trail starts off of State Park Road and is an easy ride and is pretty scenic. When it crosses the
Meadow Mountain Trail, it begins a slow to moderate uphill climb for about a 1/2 mile or so with some pretty easy riding and one rock garden.
At its intersection with the Brant Mine Trail, it begins a little descent with a few technical sections with some rocks where it meets up with the
Indian Turnip Trail. At this intersection, you can choose to continue uphill on the
Indian Turnip Trail or continue on Beckman's Trail which traverses across the mountain and eventually drops back down to the
Meadow Mountain Trail. This section is relatively easy with a few rocky areas that are easy to navigate.
If you choose to continue onto the
Indian Turnip Trail, this will take you to to the top of the mountain through some pretty technical rock gardens and moderate uphill climbing for approx. another 1/2 mile or so where the
Indian Turnip Trail crosses over the
Meadow Mountain Trail at the top.
Refer to the
Indian Turnip Trail for a more detailed description of that trail.
