Description

Wire Trail is a great descent option from Alpine Trail. It starts by traversing the south side of Spring Slide Mountain above a steep drainage. From there, the trail starts an extended downhill section that parallels a ridge.

The descent then gets steeper and switchbacks down the nose of a ridge. It's a fun, long, forearm-burning experience.

The entire route travels through old avalanche terrain and burn areas.

The route ends at the Wire Creek Trailhead.
