Description

This section is notably more difficult to climb than Forest Road #295 from St. Elmo to Hancock, as it is not railroad grade. It's a 4x4 road that is steeper and rougher than the railroad grades nearby.

The difficulty level goes up as the steepness, loose boulders, and elevation combine to make this climb a little tougher than you would think just looking at the stats.

Hancock Pass can be very windy. And very cold. Tomichi Pass can be seen in the background, you'll be climbing up that.

Hancock Pass is a 4X4 road that sucks a lot of energy heading up it.
