Description

From Mountain Road, the trailhead is located on the southwestern side of the road. An unofficial sign indicates that the trail is hiking only, however this trail is part of the multi-use Ring-the-Peak system, and cycling is a valid way to enjoy these trails.

The first mile is composed of steep technical switchbacks which, for most, will be hike-a-bike. The sign-making hikers will be pleased.

Once over the ridge, stay to the right, taking the western trail. To the right is a small trail to Crowe Gulch.

The remaining 2.5 miles of the trail has one more short climb but is relatively flat along the the ridgeline above Chipita Park. The trail continues toward the Crystal Peak Reservoir and the Crystal Peak Reservoir to North Catamount Reservoir Trail.

DRY. Starts off with a beautiful hike-a-bike for a mile. Then flattens out some. Loose gravel seems to be the standard. Gorgeous views. 3.5mi
