Start at the intersection of
Back Hollow Road and
Cross Ridges Trail. Climb up a narrow singletrack with a couple of technical sections to a gap on the ridgeline intersecting with
Kiner Hollow Trail and
Indian Pipes Trail. On the way up, there are two spots that might require a dismount to bypass, but are rideable in the downhill direction.
Turn left at the intersection and make a short climb out of the gap. Follow the ridgeline on a fast and flowing trail. The trail makes a 90-degree turn just prior to the other end of
Kiner Hollow Trail and the park boundary, and is easy to miss. If you see the "Leaving the Park" sign, stop and backtrack to catch the turn leading down the ridge. The descent is steep and probably rideable downhill only. At this point connecting to
Kiner Hollow Trail or reversing the direction and traveling back to
Indian Pipes Trail are two options.
If you continue to the end of Pretty Ridge Trail, at the bottom the trail crosses a fence line over a wooden fence ladder and passes through a pasture; keep to the left through the pasture. At the end, the trail intersects with
Back Hollow Road again. A loop could be made (not recommended) by turning left on
Back Hollow Road towards the northeast, however, the trail is frequently blocked by downed trees and a wet section that is usually a quagmire and needs improvement for regular use.
The most used segments of this trail are the section along the ridgeline connecting both ends of
Kiner Hollow Trail and the segment from the start point up the ridge to the 4-way intersection with
Kiner Hollow Trail and
Indian Pipes Trail, which is challenging, but rideable, in both directions up or down.
