Description

The trail follows the scenic Hwy 1. This section of trail climbs and descends like the other trails in the area but the trail is not as climbing intensive as some of the nearby trails (Old Military Road, Boardstand Trail, etc.).

There are nice views along the way of the valley below. Deer and chipmunks can be seen while on the trail. The trail will pass through some boulder fields at times. The boulder fields are fairly technical and will require walking the bike for most people. These sections are short lived however, and worth the long descents toward Ouachita National Recreation Trail - Segment 02 just northeast of County Road 221.

Definitely for hikers. Absolutely beautiful but constant loose cobbles and tight switch backs. Not very rideable. Even in peak shape not too fun. 3mi
