Description
Parking is just off the asphalt road under the highway. The route starts on a doubletrack that leads to a graded road following the pipelines. The first climb drops you in the next valley where the temperatures are usually a bit cooler. The hard left turn brings you through some rough and fun doubletrack that follows some power lines. This drops you into a large wadi with lots of loose gravel before continuing on more doubletrack out the wadi leading to a graded road.
The graded road steadily climbs to a small pass with fun switchbacks on the downhill side that lead you through a small village. The graded road dumps you into another wadi with fun, technical singletrack lines that frequently get washed out after storms.
Midway through the wadi, you come across the beginning of the Al Falaj. We usually ride the edge of the Falaj all the way into Saal village. On particularly hot days, just a little past the start of the Falaj, there are some nice pools for a quick cool down soak and swim. After the village, take the graded road on the left back to the pipeline road back to your car.
