An extension of Poverty Creek, this trail does not follow the creek but climbs out of the valley instead.

Description

Once you cross the Forest Road, Poverty Creek becomes a lot more technical and physically demanding. The outer portion of Poverty Creek begins with a climb up to Indian Pipe Trail with a gravel-like surface. The trail then winds down the outer regions of Gap Mountain, featuring many tight turns, loose rocks, and punchy climbs. Note - This region of trail is much more difficult than the rest of Poverty Creek, as it has steeper grades and more technical terrain. Also make sure to watch out for black bears, as this region of the trail system features the least traffic of any region.
