Copperhead Road is another technical test at Coler. The route connects the west and east sides of Oscar's Loop and is a good choice for adding challenge to your ride.

From the west side, Copperhead Road climbs from an intersection with Oscar's Loop. It's manageable at first and then ramps up to a steep grade through dense forest. As you climb through the initial switchbacks, you might also notice some amazing rock work that provides the base for the trail.

At the top of the climb, the route gradually rolls down across the contour of the hillside. The last bit is another steep climb to reach the east side of Oscar's Loop.

You can also start Copperhead Road at the top of the Coler Downhill Platform. Starting here results in a lot of downhill, chunky, tight rock sections, as well as some very challenging uphill rock climbing. The trail has been reworked early in 2021 to have more rock, concrete, and a creek crossing made from recycled concrete that adds a bit of joy to the end of the downhill run.
