Description
To access this trail from Morzine, you'll need to take the Super Morzine Bubble Lift. At mid-mountain, transition to the Zore chair lift. This segment is well-marked with the standard Portes du Soleil trail markers.
This route follows a forest road for 1.7 miles high up on a ridge until an intersection with the highway D338, Route d'Avoriaz at the Col de la Joux Verte Mountain Pass. From this ridge, you'll enjoy sweeping views until entering a forest about halfway to the pass.
From the pass, there is another forest road that continues left to the north through a dense forest. This forest road descends steeply (120 m; 400 ft) over the next mile. The route continues for another two miles, passing by a small lake. The forest eventually gives way to open pasture in a remote valley. When you reach two mountain huts at the 3.6-mile mark, turn back towards the north to continue steeply down the valley.
The route ends at a collection of restaurants, ski lifts, and parking above the village of Les Lindarets. From here, you can follow the
PdS: Les Lindarets to Morzine route along the road back to Morzine or you can continue along the
Portes du Soleil (Gateway to the Sun) circuit following the
PdS: Les Lindarets to Châtel segment.
