Description

The white-blazed Turtle Trails starts and ends at an intersection with the Ridge Trail and Boone Trail just a little ways to the east of the Fire Tower parking area. From there, the loop travels through a quiet and isolated woods in the western-most part of the park.

Most of the trail isn't overly hilly, though it does have some rocky sections. If traveling clockwise, the last part turns right to overlap with the Boone Trail for a short but steep climb back up to the start. In the opposite direction, the Turtle Trail starts with a rocky descent, turns left at the "T," and then continues a rolling climb back to the beginning.

Parked near the fire tower. The turtle trail was a lot of fun. It was a very rocky trail with a huge uphill climb at the end with even more rocks.… 4.4mi — 1h 16m
