Description
This is another gem in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug trail system! The grade frequently switches between climbing and descending so you'll get a good work out and lots of fun. There are ride-arounds for some jumps and obstacles, so the trail appeals to a wide variety of skills.
The flowy sections never seem to end and apart from a few short sections on paved bike path, it is wonderful mix of everything a rider wants. The landscape varies from open woods, to dense woods and semi open areas. In a few spots you'll travel along the freeway or train tracks, but that won't dampen the experience one bit.
The only thing I miss are a few hard and longer climbs, but since other trails like nearby Amerongen and Leersum do offer that, that is just fine. Ride one lap and you'll want to do another one.
There are several places to pick the trail up. The following locations have parking, some facilities and sell the vignet/permits:
- Restaurant ’t Jagershuys, Jagersingel 15, 3707 HW in Zeist
- Camping De Krakeling, Woudenbergseweg 17, 3707 HW in Zeist.
- Hotel Bergse Bossen, Traaij 299, 3971 GM in Driebergen
- Parking area on de Woudenbergseweg 39, 3711 Austerlitz—across the street from the Beauforthuis.
