Description
Since Walnut Creek has this yellow-marked trail as a bit of a confusing lollipop loop, I decided to break it up into separate segments.
This piece of Chimney Trail has multiple connectors onto
Wilkin's Way. The official trail map also shows that Chimney Trail is split joining
Wilkin's Way for a short distance which isn't true (but can be ridden that way). This trail actually follows alongside
Wilkin's Way until it turns back downhill as I have it mapped out. If going downhill on this west portion, there is a fork that you can choose to go left or right. Either option ends up connecting back to the main trail.
There are some great rock gardens to blast through on this trail or to navigate over if climbing up. There are ways around the harder parts as people have tried to make the trail easier. Please don't promote erosion by riding off trail. If your skill level isn't up to par, then please walk what you can't ride or ride a different trail.
The lowest point on this trail flows directly into
Colleen's Corners. If you want to ride down the east side of Chimney Trail you'll need to keep an eye out for the sharp turn to go up
Colleen's Corners for about 100ft before it intersects the other side of Chimney Trail.
