Description

This is a paved road and as such won't represent any major technical difficulty, although it is a good way up and may challenge many aerobically. This segment is part of the official route for the Gotthardpass Section II, but you won't miss much if you take the Funicolare Piotta-Ritom (Cogwheel Railway) to save most of the climbing. For this option, take the Gotthardpass Section II - Lift Option from the center of Airolo.
