Family Friendly Great scenery, good hiking and biking. Not too hot in the summer.

Chains or 4WD are necessary to reach the trailhead in the winter.

Description

From Highway Exit 57, drive 100 yards north on S Main, turn right on Old Highway 91 and drive 200 yards. Turn left on Greenslake Dr and continue for two miles until you reach the Greens Lake Trailhead (37.64, -113.06 / 690 Cedar Highlands Dr). Greenslake Dr becomes Cedar Highlands Dr when it becomes a gravel road.

There are only a couple of features on this trail. The fun begins when you hit Lava Flow. The trail was cut with a mini Dozer and the Kubota Track hoe, hence the width and the flow. There is about 75 feet of rock garden as you approach Lichen It. We worked hard on the berms to make this a flow trail.

I've been asked "what is the name of the trail from the Green's Lake TH to Lava Flow?" If signage means anything, it's "New Trail."
