Description

A rare trail outside of New Meadows that traverses across slopes and dips in and out of valleys. The trail is remote and primitive, but seems to see some attention. The tread is in good shape but just be prepared to cross the creeks and get your feet wet. There are a number of new bridges and some recent treadwork has been done.

In the first 4.5 miles, the trail goes up and down a lot and if you want to do this trail as an out-and-back then this is a good turnaround point. From about 4.5 miles to 5.75 miles, the trail is steep and you may be hiking some. Then it levels out again before a final steep pitch to the ridge. There are lots of great views along the route and you can possibly connect it with some other trails to make a large loop.
