Description

This trail is reached via the north end of the Saponi Loop Trail and offers increased climbing (relatively speaking), some flowy sections, and a few technical obstacles. Like the Saponi Loop Trail, this trail is wide enough to accommodate new riders, but can be taken at speed for more of a challenge. Also like the Saponi Loop Trail, there is plenty of shade during the hot summer months in eastern NC.

A sign at the start of the Pyrite Loop directs visitors which way to travel depending on the year. Even years, travel clockwise. Odd years, travel counter-clockwise.
