Overview

This old school singletrack loop uses a great section of the Colorado Trail overlooking Hermosa Creek Trail and a long, aggressive downhill on the Salt Creek Trail #733.

Description

Park outside of Rico and pedal up the road for about one mile. Head up Scotch Creek - Forest Road 580 until you come upon the Colorado Trail. Turn right (south) and enjoy a cross country style segment with rolling ups and downs for many miles.

Just before the 14-mile mark, look for FS Road 564.B and Salt Creek Trail #733. This trail has a gentle beginning then gets progressively steeper until you kick out on to Highway 145, to head back to your car.

Scotch Creek is clear. CT has two trees across trail, but easy to get over. Salt Creek has one aspen tree across trail, easy to get over. — 0h 12m
