Description
The Red Cedar is LAMBA and Linn County's professional installation of natural surface singletrack at Squaw Creek Park. The Red Cedar is a green rated (less difficult) bi-directional singletrack trail packed with flow elements (berms, rollers, lifts, etc.).
Excerpt from the trail plan, "The Red Cedar Loop strives to create an all-new trail experience at Squaw Creek – a family friendly singletrack loop tied directly to existing park infrastructure (parking areas, picnic and lodge facilities). The targets of this loop are new trail users, lacking the confidence, fitness, or skill, to consider wandering completely out of sight of familiar surroundings. Good examples are youth on 'strider' bicycles or the older fitness walkers currently resorting to the park roads."
The Red Cedar singletrack crosses a 15 MPH park road twice and connects to blue rated (more difficult) singlerack (
Irene) via a connector trail, also more difficult (
Mercy Flush /
Troll Holler); leaving Squaw Creek with a grand total of 5 miles of singletrack.
