  • The Beach Ridge Bike Trail alternates the direction of travel based on the day of the week. Sunday through Wednesday ride clockwise. Thursday through Saturday ride counter-clockwise.
  • The trail also overlaps the Oak Openings Hiking Trail on the east sides of the Hognose Snake Loop and the Blazing Star Loop. This is the only part of the hiking-only trail that allows bikes.

Description

Hognose Snake Loop starts winding north into the forest for a clockwise-loop. The singletrack soon gives way to doubletrack and then returns to singletrack along Swan Creek. Hognose Snake Loop travels through a low wetland, but there are a number of flat bridges to keep riders out of some of the damp spot (but it can still be very muddy in this area after it rains).

A bridge at the north end of the loop connects to the Blazing Star Loop before the singletrack starts heading back to the trailhead. This part of the trail opens up with sweeping turns that allow for a fast and fun run.
