Family Friendly Wide trail for the most part. Lightly traveled by others.

Description

This is an unmaintained fire road with several great sustained climbs and descents along the way. The trail surface is very smooth and you can really get your speed up if you want to! It's possible to ride in either direction, but I find riding from Pine Knob to Oakland (as mapped) is more fun than the reverse.

There are several small dead-end jetties that branch off of the main trail. This trail also leads you past two private property lots. Always be on the lookout for downed trees and things like that. There are several wet spots along the trail. Remember, go through them and not around them so as to not widen the trail.

There's a good sense of solitude on this road, but you still might be sharing it with other trail users. Be alert and ready to yield.

Fairly easy to do with a mountain bike but extremely challenging on a gravel grinder.
