Need to Know
This is highly recommended as a descent only. It's just too steep to enjoy going uphill for almost everyone.
Description
Despite having "creek" in its name, this trail follows a ridgeline from the CT - Segment 27 all the way down to the highway and the Dolores River. It passes through spectacular aspen forest with occasionally great views.
This trail is a true underrated gem of the SW CO region! Absolutely ripping descent with a beautiful mix of terrain! From fast and flowy, to steep and rocky, there is a great mix. In the spring and fall, the upper section has beautiful soil that just makes you giddy to ride. The lower section becomes a tad more rocky and challenging as it it littered with root and rock sections while also having moments of exposure. A must do during the fall as there are large section of aspens that make you feel like you are riding through tunnels of gold. I highly recommend this trail for someone that is gravity focused and wants a backcountry trail that has more technical bits to it!
