Need to Know
There are a few creek crossings off HWY 22 when you first start up
Mail Cabin Trail. There are bridges, but be careful not to get sucked into the horse crossings through the water.
Description
This ride has a few creek crossings, and can be overgrown with wildflowers at times. Additionally, the stretch heading down into Mike Harris can be rocky at times. The loop is best done clockwise as the descent of
Mikesell Canyon is very steep, but could be done either way if looking to connect to other trails.
After riding the most predominant ridge-line heading down towards the
Pole Canyon to Mikesell Connector, you can then pickup the
Mikesell Canyon trail, or continue back to the Mike Harris Campground where you started.
This can also be shuttled leaving a vehicle at the Mike Harris Campground and heading up the pass onto Mail Cabin Creek Road with a parking area at the end of the road at the Mail Cabin Trailhead.
