Description

R1 (Red 1) begins at the corner of a parking area and heads straight into a root-strewn section. Roots are the general theme of this trail for the first third, before the trail starts working the elevation with some ups and downs that are sometimes steep. The trail travels through some scenic spruce forest that really gives you the feeling that you are in the middle of nowhere.

There are some steeper sections before the grade tapers off a bit before the rest of the ascent. Red 1 is actually a reclaimed trail, so you very well may have ridden this before. The Red trails were all freshly re-built in 2016/2017 but are now in amazing shape after a full year of work and are riding in nicely.
