Description
Part of the old 24 Hour Race route, this is mostly rough doubletrack but it's seldom used and feels pretty darn close to singletrack. It's a fun descent when not too muddy.
Access the upper end of the route from the indicated parking area by heading across the ski slopes on a cat track running roughly parallel and above Neal's Run Road. The track takes you down to a point where it joins the road. Or, just take the road to this point. Continue on the road a bit looking for a branch into the forest on your right. Take it, and begin your ride towards Spook Hill. Follow the trail as it descends, ultimately joining Neal's Run Road much further down.
Just before the end, you'll reach a hairpin branch point not shown on the map. If you continue straight, you'll pop out on the road directly opposite
24 Hour Race Climb. If you turn right (as shown on the map) you'll take another switchback down and hit Neal's Run Road a bit lower.
From here, you can either head down the road towards
Indian Creek Valley Trail (ICV) and Champion, or you can climb the steep road section back up to start
24 Hour Race Climb.
