Description

Starting about six miles up Fletcher Creek Rd. (FR 5097) on the left, this trail begins as a fairly easy grade downhill that has some fun flow. The trail surface in the beginning is hardpack clay. You'll have two decent stream crossings where you're likely to get your feet pretty wet. They're a bit deeper than they look.

After the second stream crossing and the intersection with Spencer Gap Trail #600 and Middle Fork Trail, you'll encounter a somewhat short climb that has a couple of false flats. The trail surface begins to get a little rocky here, but there's no big chunk.

After the climb is a fun downhill that's rather different from the earlier one. This downhill is much steeper and has a fair bit of exposed rock. You need to keep on your toes here and watch your line. The bottom of this trail dumps you onto Hendersonville Reservoir Rd. (FR 142) where you can hang a right to visit the reservoir, or keep left to return to the trailhead.
