Description

Grouse Ridge (Grouse 1021.1) is an expert level downhill trail from near the summit of Buffalo pass to the Ditch Trail. It has many exposed cliff edge lines, drops, rock features, and difficult technical sections. Grouse Ridge got new life as a social trail that adapted as part of the ongoing trail expansions in the area. It was funded with 2A tax funds generated by hotel room taxes in Steamboat Springs.

The lower half of the trail is generally less technical and exposed than the upper part. It joins up with what will eventually be the lowest portion of the Soda Mountain Trail (targeted to open in 2018). The lower part can be also be accessed from the Grouse Connector off of FS Road 60.2A.

It's a big ride without a shuttle. It's kind of way back there.
