Description
The trail begins with a 1.0 mile climb, followed by a 1.0 mile descent, another 1.0 mile climb, and another 1.0 mile descent before a steady climb up the drainage on an old road. Designed for motorcycles, there are several switchbacks in the first 4.0 miles that are wide enough for good practice on these.
I rode from the bottom up the trail for 6.0 miles, and turned around after crossing the creek. I'd definitely recommend this one! While I haven't ridden the top portion, a friend who has ridden this on his motorcycle said he thinks that part is a little rougher.
Addition: After 6 miles, I continued up the trail to 7.5 miles. There were 4 stream crossings, and an elevation gain of 2,000' from the trailhead. After the first stream crossing, the trail becomes considerably more chunky, steep, and expert. There are portions of hike-a-bike uphill. That said, if I had more time I would have continued for the remaining 2.5 miles to see the end. There are sections that are very rideable on the up.
The down was great fun, chunky but all rideable. There were no dead or down trees as it seems the trail gets some motorcycle traffic. This is an adventure ride, remote and no cell service. Be prepared and have fun!
