Description

At the top of Monk's Trailhead, head east further up the mountain instead of the more typical route south. This is East Monk's Trail. You quickly find out that East Monk's is more technical than Monk's Trail as you plunge down a steep technical drop into an arroyo. If you slow down too much during this descent, you won't have enough momentum to make it up the steep, rocky bank on the other side.

The remainder of the trail is mostly a technical downhill worthy of a professional enduro race course. Large, loose and solid rock sections riddle the trail along with some 8-12" drops. On an all mountain bike, the descent is fun and you can maintain momentum. A cross-country or hardtail rider will get beat up pretty bad on this trail.
