A great loop for mountain bike novices. There will be hikers on the trail, especially in high season, so take it easy. Best time to ridee is late September in the weeks before the public campground shuts down. Most of the trail is very easy - there are a couple sharp turns at the dam end of the lake but nothing too technical.

At one point (Sandy Cove), signs will direct you off the trail to the road for a short stretch. I missed this sign the first couple times around and did not encounter any enforcement or difficulty - I think it is mainly to avoid friction between pedestrians and bike riders.

There are a couple of bridges that traverse the inlet and outlet of the lake and beautiful views from the Christian campground at the west end. (Although the Christian Campground is private, they welcome visitors at their lakefront snack shop, boat rentals, general store and gas station. They will also rent you a bike.)
