I think the best way to run this is from the MTB Project GPS points (which has it start near the entrance of the YMCA fields), but you can run it the other way to.
Near the sign to the YMCA complex entrance to the left is a short road near a building. In the middle of the split off is the sign for the start of the trail.
The trail is singletrack. Within the first mile, you'll encounter the 4-6 bridges on this trail. 0.2 miles from the start is the right turn onto
Short 'n Sweet Trail. After 0.4 miles, you'll cross East Gray Flats Road. Stay on the singletrack. Soon the fun downhill with two berms is up next.
At the bottom, turn right across a bridge to stay on Gray Flats North. You can go straight to go on
Boulder's Edge Trail. Up ahead to the left is the end (or start) of
Piney Bluff Trail. From here, it's up, down, straight, rocks, roots, and singletrack. Eventually, you'll get to an unmarked turn off to the left that connects to
Piney Bluff Trail and
Wildflower Trail. Go straight to stay on trail.
Soon you'll see the start of
Piney Bluff Trail and a yoga platform on the right. Buckle up, a steep and rocky downhill is next on the trail. After that, a short singletack section will spit you out at the trailhead.
Go straight to go on
Gray Flats South Trail, turn right to get to parking area.
This is a fun trail that throws the elements of trail mountain biking but in an easier form. A really fun trail for an intermediate too. Have fun!
