Need to Know
The whole trail has cell reception so you can check your
MTB Project mobile app to see where you are. Also, it gets very hot in summer so take all the necessary precautions.
Description
I rode this trail because
Rice Canyon Trail was closed. There is a river crossing to get to the head of the trail but it’s easy to cross without getting wet, even with a bike.
It’s a short trail to the top, not too strenuous either. It's good for beginners or anyone who just wants to have a quick ride. The area was burned in the Thomas Fire but is now starting to grow green after the late winter rains. There are beautiful oak tree forests along the trail and a lot of the ride is in the shade.
The views at the top are amazing, but watch out for horse poop. Many equestrians frequent the trail, so you'll have to share it with them, hikers, and other mountain bikers, but it's not crowded by any means. There are a few technical spots, but for the most part it’s an easy meandering trail.
