Flying Moa Track is a non-threatening hand-built trail designed to test any intermediate mountain biker and put a smile of the face of the expert. The trail twists and turns in unexpected ways as it descends from the top of Big Bush Track down to Sidewinder Trail.
This is a great trail to improve bike handling skills without anything dangerous, but it will take a skilled rider to keep up momentum and make this track flow. Many riders have to take a few breaks on the way down this trail because of the concentration required.
Magnificent native beech forest and abundant bird life are features of the trail. Mid-way down, the trail winds across a small plateau featuring some surprisingly tight turns before starting a steeper descent to the bottom.
The start of the trail is accessed from either the west end of Big Bush Track or from the top of Kaka Track.
