The High Ridge Loop Trail can be traveled in either direction, but bikers will generally find a more enjoyable route by heading clockwise (as mapped).

After the second cattle gate, you'll find yourself climbing up steep hill after steep hill all the way to top. From there, it becomes easier and there are even some nice descents through Garin Regional Park. The fire road continues after crossing a picnic area and it becomes more challenging again, but eventually will get easier near the top.

Passing the third cattle gate, the trail is easier and the view is pretty rewarding. Keep going for about 2.0 miles till you find a bench. This is a vista point most people stop at to enjoy the sight from the top. It's also the point where the trail starts the final descent. There also is another trail (Gossip Rock Loop) that you can ride from here before you head down the long and steep return to the start.

Watch out for muddy conditions, because when it's muddy, most of the trail is impassable.
