Beware of the large number of hunters during hunting season (I ride here at night during hunting season).
Overview
Head out on this 10-mile loop using the great trails here in the Pharsalia Statelands. Start and end at the Round Pond facility.
These trails are my go-to trails—great for day or night time. Good singletrack abounds here in the Pharsalia Statelands, and people are working on more and more to support our local NICA high/middle school mountain bike team.
Description
From the Round Pond facility and parking area off Reservoir Hill Road, head south on
Let's Go! Continue south onto
Roller Coaster, which connects down to
9-Mile Truck Trail. In and of itself, this doubletrack can be a great ride. It's a gravel road doubletrack in the summer and an awesome groomed snowmobile/fat biking venue in the winter!
During hunting season, the road is rideable, but you'll see a lot of hunters (just wear bright clothes). This is my go-to training route and is a hidden gem of a ride here in Chenango County!
Continue west until
Plymouth Reservoir Trail 2 takes you northwest on undulating sections toward the reservoir and Elmer Harris Road. Turn left (south) and loop around the south side of the reservoir before ducking back into the woods before Elmer Harris hits Cottage Lane. Here you'll find the
To the Lean-To trail and
Plymouth Reservoir Trail 2.
Take the
Plymouth Reservoir Trail 2 southwest back up toward
9-Mile Truck Trail and turn left on the doubletrack Truck trail, climbing to the
Frenchman's Lane on your right.
Head along
Frenchman's Lane until it merges with the
9-Mile Truck Trail. Hop back onto the truck trail heading east until it ends at Blackman Road. Head left up the road, looking for a left onto the last climb and descent on
Pharsalia Thruway.
Stay tuned for future trail development and enjoy the trails at Pharsalia!
