Description
The trail starts at a gentle grade twisting through the native bush with numerous roots and tight corners. The gradient gradually increases with some tight switchbacks before starting to zig-zag across the steep hill face as it descends to a couple of rideable creek crossings.
After the second creek, the tempo increases as the grade steepens more with frequent switchbacks until, with aching brake fingers, you reach a 4WD track. Crossing the track, the trail drops into a couple more switchbacks and winds its way down to a tricky creek crossing with a steep exit. You need to be set up well to make this crossing.
After a few more twists through narrow gaps in the trees, another creek crossing is a great finale as you exit onto the 4WD road which takes you down to Marsden Valley Road.
