Description

The Bartram Red Loop throws it all at you, providing 10.4 miles of fun (and a little climbing). If you ride the loop counter-clockwise (as mapped), you'll take a right after the gate at the trailhead parking and follow the gravel road until you see the first waypoint marker on your left. The trail starts out with a 1.0 mile easy climb on the John Muir Trail, an old forest road that is grown over into wide singletrack in most sections.

From there, you'll ride mostly singletrack for the rest of the lap, with only a few short forest road sections. The loop ends with one mile of technical singletrack with short steep pitches, rocks, and roots, but nothing an intermediate mountain biker can't handle. The exit follows a 0.4 miles climb back up the parking lot.

When riding the loop in a clockwise direction, the first 0.4 miles downhill section is a complete blast with flowing turns and even a few jumps thrown in. And finishing with the super fast John Muir Trail is the icing on the cake for riding in that direction.

The Fire Cracker Trail is a fast downhill (or painful climb) that leaves out from the trailhead. There are a few jumps along the trail (with more to come soon).

New power line climb trail. It's either 0.6 miles of downhill thrill or 0.6 miles of uphill pain...
