Overview
A big loop on the south side of Big Bear Lake that provides amazing views and a serious test of physical fitness.
Description
This route is a loop, starting near the Village of Big Bear Lake. It's a great deal of beautiful forest riding on dirt roads up to historic Clark’s Grade.
Start by pedaling up FSR 2N08. At the top, you'll enjoy expansive views before starting a "big time" downhill into the Santa Ana River Valley via
Clark's Grade (1N54). At the bottom, turn left on
Converse Road (1N04) and settle in for the biggest challenge of the ride when you ascend back up to South Shore via steep and legendary
Radford Truck Trail (2N06). The climb up
Radford Truck Trail (2N06) is on a fire road climb that tops out at the back of the Big Bear Ski Resorts. It is less-traveled than Clark's Grade and much rockier towards the top.
Near the top of the climb, turn left on
Skyline Road (2N10). Enjoy a quick downhill before turning right on FSR 2N51Y. Pedal a little uphill from here and then turn right on FSR 2N08 to finish the ride.
