Description

The Marl Lake Trail System is within South Higgins Lake State Park, across County Road 100 from the campground and beach. It's a nice ride if you are spending some time in the Higgins Lake/Roscommon area.

This short initial loop leaves from the southwest corner of the parking lot. Clockwise is the preferred direction. On the way out, you generally stay within sight of Marl Lake. This section can be a little rooty in spots.

At about the half-mile point, the Green Trail will veer off to the right and loop back to the beginning through the forest. Continuing on straight takes you on the middle loop, Loop B (Red Trail).
