The Blue Loop is more difficult than the White River Valley Trail (Red Loop). It features steeper climbs and more rugged terrain. There is also a bottom section near Lake Taneycomo and the Blue Trailhead that is nice, flat, and flowy.

If you go in the clockwise direction on this trail (as mapped), the climb is milder but longer—cresting with a challenging rocky section. If you go in the CCW direction, expect a tough, steep climb, followed by a nice, long, and flowy downhill as a reward, with a few shorter climbs along the way.

During hunting season, some of this trail is closed, however, it will still be a loop, albeit shorter and easier.
