You must pay a small fee to the Cuatro Palos ejido before proceeding down this trail.
Description
This trail was built approximately five years ago to promote hiking and mountain biking in the area.
The trail starts in Cuatro Palos and descends the depth of the Grand Canyon to the town of Bucareli, passing by the impoverished community of Carricillo. Feel free to bring along small donations or purchase fruits in the community as a way to help out this isolated community.
The trail then follows a dry riverbed for several kilometers before ending at a campground and ziplining attraction in Bucareli. This trail was recently threatened by illegal road construction with the road reaching less than 500 meters from this trail so be sure to enjoy this trail and raise your voice to keep it from becoming a road. The trail is very steep, isolated, and lined with cactus for most of the way.
