Although a paved road, this route is quite scenic and a useful alternative to the main Strada Statale (State Highway) SS239 to make some great loop rides in the Dolomiti di Brenta. The route follows the Fiume Sacra (River) most of its length and the 3,000 m (10,000 ft) peaks of the Dolomiti di Brenta tower on both sides of the river.

From the village of Sant Antonio di Mavignonla, via Ronch descends continuously to the larger town of Pinzolo. The road becomes flatter after you cross the Sacra di Vallesinella at the point where it merges with the Fiume Sacra, the main drainage for the Dolomiti di Brenta.

Just on the outskirts of Pinzolo, the road connects with the Ciclabile Pinzolo Bike Path.
