The green Mindful Vibes trail is great for kids to cruise around the lake.
Overview
This trail system was built by a professional mountain bike trail builder. The result is great XC flow along the cliffs and hills around the lake. There is excellent signage and three well-built, brand new bridges during the course of the entire circuit.
Description
You’ll start from the gravel lot just north of 151st Street off of 149th. You have four trail options—all clearly marked:
Sweet Emotion,
Puentes,
Mindful Vibes, and
The Grind. The green
Mindful Vibes trail wraps around Collinsville Lake. The blue
Sweet Emotion trail (1.4 miles) weaves in and out of the trees and cliffs above the lake in true XC style.
The Grind is a short, black section of trail that connects with the
Sweet Emotion. It’s not too difficult. It gets the black rating because it’s skinny with a steep drop to the north.
Finally, there’s a slightly more technical section of blue trail that connects with the whole trail system. There’s a total of about four miles.
There’s a couple pretty decent climbs of about 12% grade that aren't too long. The rest is flowy ups and downs with berms on the tight corners. You’ll hit three well-built bridges along the way, and the signage is excellent so you’ll never get lost.
