Description

Great trail with good views of Coldwater Lake and Mt. St. Helens. But the best is ahead - continue onto Trail #230 and Trail #1 (bike-accessible section) for some of the best views in the region.

You start in a meadow, and about 0.1 miles in enter an alder forest for half a mile. After the alders, there's a long ridge run with full sun, no shade. At about 1.5 miles in, you'll encounter logging equipment from when the blast hit, including a yarder (to pull trees around) and a bulldozer. The trail dips down a little after about 2.7 miles and takes a wide curve to the junction.

Trail is in good condition, hard-packed dirt. No switchbacks, little exposure, no banking on turns.
