Description

Butterfield Trail is an easy loop that starts right off the parking lot of the main trailhead, go under the wooden frame and start left.

It is nice singletrack most of the way that will twist and turn you through the woods with a few creek crossings and rock gardens that could easily be managed by the novice. Once you cross the gravel lease road (beware of vehicles), the trail starts to climb very gradually and eventually loops back to the parking lot where you began.

There are signs 0.75 to 1 mile in where Colonel Hunt Trail and Oil Rig Trail split off and loop back into Butterfield making one big loop that comes in just over 4.5 miles.
