This is a fully paved bike trail. There are a few turns on roads near the end of the trail and the connection to the
Big Dry Creek Trail (South) goes through a quiet neighborhood, which also connects to the High Line Canal Trail. The road is clearly marked with signs showing where to connect. The High Line Canal Trail is hard packed gravel/dirt and overlaps the northern part of the paved
Big Dry Creek Trail (South). There is a parking lot in the neighborhood operated by SSPRD.
Today, the Big Dry Creek Greenway provides a 10 foot wide, multi-use path for cyclists, skaters, pedestrians, and equestrians of all ages and abilities. It provides access to local, regional, and metro-wide amenities including Field and Sandburg Elementary Schools, Littleton High School, South Suburban Parks District main facility, Goodson Recreation Center, Southglenn Library, Southglenn Mall and selected RTD Light Rail Stations.
Additionally, this greenway provides connections to Belleview Park, Cornerstone Regional Park, Progress Park, Pirates Cove Aquatic Park, and an off-street link to deKoevend Park, home to the South Suburban Park District’s major recreational facilities (baseball fields, ice arena, picnic areas). Also, within one mile of the Mary Carter Greenway and the Big Dry Trail, users can access Hudson Gardens, South Platte Park, and the Carson Nature Center all located along the Platte River.
